The Wounded Knee Massacre of the Sioux was the last straw that broke the spirit of the Native Americans, causing them to submit to whites. After all the battles, this incident defeated them psychologically. In their history, it is a major event that is still remembered and honored and possibly the most influential moment in their resistance against whites. Wounded Knee is in South Dakota, and in the 60s was the site of hostilites.Do you think it would have been possible for Indians and whites to live together, sharing this country?  Do you see any instances today that show an improved relationship between mainstream Americans and Native Americans?
